BEGINNERS MIND

Beginner's mind has no preconceived concepts about the practise of yoga. Beginner's mind has no agenda. Performing the asana in the present moment without thinking of the body. Flowing uninterruptedly through the asana form from beginning to end is proof that one has dropped self consciousness. Students that constantly strive to perfect technique are hampered by too much analytical thinking.

Yoga cannot be explained through words. With the development of consciousness pure awareness is ultimately realised. Yoga training is not a sport or asceticism, it is an act of understanding based on realisations brought about by the application of scientific methodology. It takes a minimum of ten years to master the basic practices, patience and perseverance are required. In yoga the path and the goal are one, therefore there is no need to hurry.

To quietly centre the body/mind through working on asana, pranayama and mudra brings calmness and stability to the spirit.

Training daily in the techniques of yoga allows each individuals potential to develop. It is of no consequence to be concerned with right and wrong. The consciousness needs to be kept bright and clear. Acting unnaturally or overly calculating distracts the mind from remaining total during training. Yoga purifies and embraces all, it must never restrain, restrict, or repress anything.

The ancient Masters describe existence in three worlds. The "manifest world" is the world of form, the "hidden world" is the invisible fields of energy and the "divine world" is the source of uncaused bliss, inspiration and enlightenment.

Deep understanding of yoga asana requires the student to study and learn many different fixed techniques, then all the fixed techniques must be forgotten. Technique itself needs to become part of the being. To be what has been learned, to go beyond memory and cognition, is the secret to mastering Sakshin Ghatastha yoga. If awareness is correct, technique will automatically be correct.

The quickest way to progress is to remain receptive. Extensive asana training, increased physical strength and flexibility, an increase of prana and the development of the witnessing consciousness are the advanced requirements of yoga training.

Those that train diligently progress; reliance on secret techniques will get nowhere. Yoga is a spiritual endeavour to nourish peace, truth and beauty. Yoga in its purest form reflects existence as it is with no distortion form deluded thinking. The awareness acquired through dedicated, uninterrupted training enables the perception of the essential nature of existence and the individuals place therein.

Mastery is acquired in the performance of the asana forms only through long and diligent training. Overly detailed explanations limit and confuse the ability of the intuitive intelligence.

The body is form, the mind is spirit and the prana is the absolute essence of all things in existance.
